Christmas in London 2018: Liberty & South Bank Winter Market

To end up the topic Christmas in London this year, I will recommend other 2 must-visit places when in London: Liberty shopping mall and South Bank Winter Market in which you can find truly Christmassy vibes.

Liberty department store is known as a fashionable and artistic destination for shopping luxury products in London which has opened since 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty. From a store selling ornaments, fabric and objets d’art from Japan and East Asia, Liberty currently become an exotic department store with global brands such as Acne Studios, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Valentino, and so on.

The Liberty’s Christmas Market is located in the 4th floor of this heritage building where you can find numerous interesting things to check off your seasonal shopping list. This market is quite small, but illustrates a range of high quality and luxury Christmas goods that you all need for a perfect Christmassy decoration.

To get into Liberty, you should use the door on Great Marlborough Street. Some nearby underground stations are Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street. Moreover, Liberty is accessible from the following buses: 3, 6, 12, 13, 15, 23, 53, X53, 88, 94, 139, 159 and C2

London Southbank Winter Market

The Winter Market is a part of  Winter at Southbank Centre festival placed by the River Thames opening within 6 weeks of Christmas season, where you can eat, drink and be merry with your beloved person or friends.

Like the other traditional Christmas markets, Southbank Winter Market offers seasonal goodies, sparkling lights, mulled wine and delicious street-foods from raclette and bratwurst to waffles and pancakes. There are a few vendors selling Christmas merchandises which are cheaper and more unique than ones at department stores. It’s always crowded on the weekend so I’d recommend heading down in the evening after work or class during weekdays if you can.

Nothing is more wonderful than grabbing some Christmassy drinks (e.g. bailey, mulled plum cider or wine), then sitting on cozy sofas at Rekorderlig Cider Lodge and enjoy the festive spirit.

The market is located at Belvedere Road SE1 8XX, which is just 3 and 6 mins walk from Embankment and Westminster Underground stations respectively. No entrance fee is required.

Let’s come and enjoy your festive holiday.

Merry Christmas!
